Video Remote Intelligence™ – Integrated video remote interpreting
VRI offers versatility for meetings of a shorter nature and last minute requests where getting an interpreter on site is not feasible. A remotely located interpreter can provide convenient services between Deaf patients and Hearing clinicians in the same room. Tutoring sessions that faculty schedule with their Deaf students are ideal for VRI. This technology also allows two interpreters to work as a team on the same call.
The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) ensures equal accessibility and opportunity for individuals with disabilities. The power of our VRI services uses the latest technology, is encrypted, HIPAA compliant, and a prudent solution for you and your Deaf students, patients and employees.
What do you need to set up VRI?
You will need a high-speed Internet connection and an iPad, Apple or PC device with an internal or external web cam. Middle English Interpreting staff will help you set up your account, test your equipment, layout, and configuration. Unlike some other local agencies our VRI can be accessed and managed successfully on any computer operating system – Microsoft, Mac OS or Android.
